Boy Best Friends

This is my 100th post!  Quite an accomplishment for me.  So to celebrate I want to dedicate this to my wonderful Boy Best Friends.

So boy best friend is a very prestigious title in my life.  My boy best friends take my hand when I need a little extra help.  They are ALWAYS there for me and I for them.  They take the role of the older brother I never had.  I love every single one I have had soooo much.

Want to meet them?  (although I usually only have one acting boy best friend at a time I am still very close with each of them)

We will start from the very beginning.  James Olen Popham.  James moved to my neighborhood when we were 6.  He is the best.  He was my boy best friend for a VERY long time.  I remember calling him in junior high over some drama and just crying to him about it.  I love him.
I have about a billion pictures of James and I before the digital age and I am too lazy to  scan them in... this is him with his sister who is also one of my good friends.

After a while Kenneth David Parkinson moved into the spot.  Often I drove him crazy but for some reason he stuck around.  Even when I had stupid boyfriends, right Kenny?  We both moved to Logan fro school and he was at my apartment a lot.  We watched a lot of TaleSpin.  He was my boy best friend until he went on his mission.  We stayed close, but he just wasn't around to talk to all the time.

After a while Conner became my new boy best friend.  He gives the best hugs. EVER.  He was always willing to text when I just needed to talk.  Conner got married.  We are still friends, but marriage just kinda changes friendships.

For a while I didn't have a boy best friend.  It was super weird.  Then I met the Davin Lembke.  Truthfully I started crushing on him and then quickly decided he would be just a great friend.  He was always there when I needed to get away from the girls.  He gave me advice a lot.  He is very mature and I needed a mature man to guide my life.  He also gives great hugs, but for a while he limited my hugs because I always stole so many.  He is now engaged to a wonderful girl.

Davin stayed my boy best friend for a while.  During that time a good friend from high school came back into my life.  Cameron James Decker.  What a stud.  Our friendship is so great.  We started out hanging out, it turned into dating, and then went back to friends.  Some people just fit better in your life that way.  Cameron brought a lot of stability into my life.  He showed me how much I am really worth.  He is AMAZING.

Sometimes friends just grow apart a little.  I moved home from Logan and Cam stayed there.  He is still one of my best friends.  He always will be.

This past little while I have had some really great friends.  Awesome guy friends, but none have really taken the boy best friend position, until now.  Ever feel like there is just someone you just really need to get to know?  Mark Alton Swanson started hanging out with my group of friends.  He intrigued me.  He became a fun friend.  And then for a few days he became more than a friend.  We both realized that our relationship was only meant to be friends.  Funny how that works sometimes.  Now Markus is my new boy best friend.  Even in this short time I really have grown to love him.  Maybe it is because he hugs me often and encourages me to let the tears flow, but is he has become an anchor in my life.  He is the kind of man that makes sure he brings happiness to your life and only that.  He is the kind of man that will randomly text you a scripture because he has been thinking about you and your problems.  I am one lucky girl.

Mark and I don't have any great pictures yet, he is the one next to me touching his ear.

I love all of you so much! Thanks for making my life so wonderful.  I know Heavenly Father loves me because he has let all of you be in my life.

Happy National Waffle Iron Day!

So today is National Waffle Iron Day.  I plan on making a lot of treats in the waffle iron.
Waffles, eggs, bacon, sandwiches, red velvet cake, brownies, pretzels, the list goes on!
Pictures to come later.  Any other waffle iron suggestions?

Reach for the Stars!

So at work today I made my crew play this game with me.  We were having all sorts of struggs today moving furniture in the school.  Lets just say the self-esteem and love for each other today was lacking.  I think this game did just the trick!

Yes, this game was written for young children, around kindergarten age, but it still had some great lessons for us to learn.  It taught us to think about our decisions, if they were good, if we should have done something different and how we can fix them.  I learned I will never carve my name in the park bench or not say thank-you to my dad when he fixes my bike.  We also learned "You're special, I'm special, we are all special!"  The best part was chuggin around the patio at work like a train.  It was so fabulous.  If you ever think your group of friends need a night to get closer and build esteem this is the game for you!

Also!  Meet my new baby!  I haven't picked a name for her yet.  Any suggestions?

Stress Relief

Today has been pretty interesting.  I have had a lot of things on my mind, very emotional things to deal with.  I am also the biggest worry wart in the world and my family in Fairview was evacuated from their homes.  Two of my uncles are working to fight this fire.  I know they are safe, but I still worry.  All of this combined with the other situations in my life have really caused my mind to go wild with activity.  Luckily Heavenly Father has blessed me with two great friends that are always willing to listen.  Talking out my problems to them really helps relieve some of the worry.  Best of all I have a Heavenly Father who always listens to me no matter what.  He is very good at reminding me to be still and know that He is God.

Here is the other way I have relieved my stress today.  Sewing.  Have I made anything productive? No way.   I have scraps and scraps of fabric with all different types of decorative stitching and button holes to show for it.  Mindless sewing where I only have to concentrate on not sewing over my finger.  I think I am going to work on a puzzle now.

The Knowing Look

I love it when people assume things.  Like when they assume I am dating someone.  And all through church I get the knowing look.  Yes I am sitting next to a boy.  No we are not dating.  Yes we did try it, and No it just did not work out.  That is all there is to it!  I am still single gentlemen.  Lucky you!

So, before you give me the knowing look make sure what you think you know is actually what is really true.

Oh how I love life!

Home

Jordan got home on Tuesday.  It is so nice to have him around.  I have missed my best friend.
Yesterday we spent the day shopping together and catching up on life.
He is so mature, so different from before his mission.  I love it.
This kind of change is good.
He is a great example to me.  I have a greater desire to learn more about the doctrine of our church.
I want to have a testimony as unwavering and strong as his is.  One day I will.
That isn't a threat, it is a promise.

A Summer Night with Em

Emily is my little sister.  We are 6 years apart.  I love her most of the time (ok, all the time, just sometimes I feel it more).  Mostly I am just jealous of her long legs, tan skin, beautiful hair and long eyelashes.  The thing I hate about her most is that she eats like a 14 year old boy and doesn't gain a pound.  (one day it will catch up to her haha)

Tonight we decided to take a little drive to Brigham City just because we could.  I burned a new summer songs CD and we drove off into the sunset singing our hearts out.  The CD contained some of our favorite songs:

1. All Your Life- The Band Perry  We both love The Band Perry SOOOOOO much
2. Boyfriend- Justin Bieber   We won't lie, we are Bieber fans!  and any song that says "swaggy" in it rocks!
3. Brighter Than The Sun-  Colbie Caillat  This is just the perfect summer song and I like to dance to this song like a monkey...
4. Call Me Maybe- Carly Rae Jepsen  Because every girl knows this feeling
5. Drive By- Train  I just love Train, that simple
6. Everybody Talks- Neon Trees  I also love Neon Trees and this song is catchy
7. Feel So Close- Calvin Harris  His voice is delicious
8. Keep Me In Mind- Zac Brown Band  Because every good playlist needs some Zac Brown
9. Lights- Ellie Goulding  I don't love this song but Emily ADORES it
10. Must Have Done Something Right- Relient K  I know this song is old, but I just like it a lot
11. Red Solo Cup- Toby Keith  We love singing the chorus at the top of our lungs out my sun roof
12. Rumour Has It- Adele  This is our Woman Power jam
13. Somebody That I Used To Know- Gotye  I don't even know why I like this song....
14. Starships- Nicki Minaj  Em and I are HUGE fans of Nicki, wish we could be her...
15. What Makes You Beautiful- One Direction  Because this song made me fall in love with 17, 18, and 19 year old boys
16. Wild Ones- Flo Ride  We are wild one!

So after singing our guts out we decided to go into Walmart.  I fell in love with a skirt.  It was on clearance for $11.  When the lovely Walmart checker lady scanned the tag it rang up at $5!  Yep!  I rock at shopping.
