So tonight was IWA and it was so much fun! We went up the canyon and had a "fire"side. It is always really great to hear the testimonies of the girls in my IWA chapter. I am the oldest in my group and I feel so inadequite compared to these younger girls. They all have really strong testimonies of the church and the gospel. I look to them for strength. We also made banana boats to each. Yum yum!!
I came home to my empty apartment but I instantly heard my bestest friends Mel, Megan, and Alicia across the way. They were having a dance party and I just had to join. This is our favorite song of the night. If you love Bieber you will love this :) If you hate Bieber you will also love this :)

Forget-Me-Not
This past weekend has been one of the best I have had for a long time. It wasn't because I spent lots of time playing and being involved with Aggie activities, it was because I watched the General Relief Society meeting and also taught relief society in my ward. Focusing on the gospel makes my life so much better.
So basically I was reminded a lot of the things in my life that need focus. I was reminded what it means to be a virtuous woman in God's kingdom and that I need to cling to relief society. I need to have more charity that is focused around the pure love of Christ. I must cleave to my covenants and I will find joy and protection.
The most amazing part of this meeting was President Uchtdorf's message. He used the symbol of a forget-me-not flower to represent the things we as women in the church need to always remember.
1. Forget not to be patient with myself (this is the hardest thing for me)
2. Forget not a good sacrifice or a foolish one
3. Forget not to be happy now
4. Forget not the why of the gospel
5. Forget not that the Lord love me
One thing President Uchtdorf said that really touched me was that we are closer to heaven then we suppose.
The messages from this meeting make me so exciting for the upcoming general conference. I feel like I learn so much from the talks given at this time and I feel I will find a lot of comfort listening to the words of the prophets this coming weekend.

The Color Code
So do you guys remember the Color Personality Code? My roommate Steph found a book about it at DI and we have been obsessed with it ever since.
A year ago I was 100% a blue personality. I retook it last night and found out I am now 50% blue and 50% white. It is kinda crazy how we change as we get older...
Anyway I wanna share my personality with you guys!
Blues: the do-gooders
I am deeply committed, fiercely loyal, and a well-behaved member of society. I can be logical but I am more likely to respond to an emotional plea. I am giving and sensitive. The book says that committing to a relationship is my greatest strength. (I am not sure about that...ask my past boyfriends haha). I am loyal to those I love. I am a perfectionist (so true) and I can be highly demanding (also very true). I am disciplined and stable, self-sacrificing and nurturing, unforgiving and resentful, worried and guilty, appropriate and sincere, purposeful and dedicated, moody and complex.
Some blues in history are Abraham Lincoln, Princess Diana, and Walt Disney.
My other half
Whites: the peacekeepers
As a white I am peaceful and diplomatic. I am insecure, and nonassertive, doubtful and dependent, tolerant and patient, impressionable, I withhold feelings, I am blendable and kind, an unproductive dreamer, accepting, lazy, gentle and even-tempered, indecisive (see Cam, its part of my personality haha), silent and stubborn, and I blend into all situations.
Some whites in history are Albert Einstein, Michael Jackson, and Jimmy Carter.
So a blue personality tends to seek relationships with white personalities and a white personality tends to seek a relationship with a blue or yellow personality. If you fall into that category don't be afraid to call me up!

Of Friends and Flirting :)
So basically I have had some fun experiences the last few days.
First of all...boy who can't get a clue...GET A CLUE!! It didn't happen in May, it won't happen now.
Secondly, I am getting very frustrated with Katniss in Catching Fire...
Lastly, going to bed at 8:30 really messes with my body's schedule.
Ok, now for the important stuff. So Tuesday two ladies from National FCCLA did a workshop for us future FACS teachers. They were really fun to work with and gave us some great tips about how to include FCCLA in the classroom. We then walked them to Aggie Icecream and indulged in some of the best ice cream in the world. Basically that made my day the best!
Today has been great too! Classes have been fun. Lets just say I LOVE INSTITUTE!! I learned some great things about how I can better prepare myself for upcoming general conference. I also have been learning some great things about Joseph Smith's life that I didn't really know before. It has been a great testimony builder.
Its Wednesday! Wednesday means IWA! This particular one was so much fun! Sister Dymock did a lecture called "Flirting 101." Basically I have not laughed this much in months! She really understands how the dating process works and she really had some great tips on how we can make dating better, especially the flirting process. My favorite part was when she explained the 5 stages of dating.
1. The approach
2. The "talk"
3. Swivel & turn
4. The touch
5. Synchronization
If you want more detail about these stages just come talk to me :) I will explain.
Well I am off to keep reading this book. Hopefully I will move past this frustration...

My Fantabulous Life!
Mondays are not usually my favorite day of the week but this one is going to be hard to top!
So my day started with going to class at 8 am. As far as Secondary Education classes go, mine is pretty bomb diggity. Basically I am really learning how I can be the best teacher in the world! This brings me much excitement! Can't you guys picture me as your favorite high school teacher ever? This is my new goal in life. Be the favorite teacher!
The rest of my day was devoted to FCS and all the fun that comes along with it. SOO, every semester we put on a fashion show with the Dress and Humanities class on campus. The theme is recycle. Recycle but fashion show equals EPIC! When I have pictures from last night I will make sure I put them up! So right after my class I went to the Family Life building and started preparing for this awesome day! Lets just say carrying a bunch of stuff across campus really gives you a great workout! I am sore today!
At noon a group of FCCLA high school students from around Utah came up to participate in a Leadership Conference we put on for them! This got me totally pumped to teach! I love high school kids. Sure they can push your buttons but for the most part they are really fun to be around! The best part is I am a cool college girl and became an instant role model to them. I love the chance I get to mold young minds! As part of the workshop, the students were given a challenge. They were given a garbage bag full of... well garbage. They had 40 minutes to come up with an outfit with the materials they were given. Lets just say high school kids are really creative! They came up with some sweet designs. They had the opportunity to models those designs in our fashion show! Basically those models were struttin their stuff, showin off to the college boys. It was hilarious!
So now that I have told you about the fashion show I will tell you some actual details. So we set up for the show throughout the day. The setup this year was by far the best we have ever had. We were able to have around 940 chairs set up in the TSC Ballroom. We filled all of them!! We are always successful in our shows, but this one really raised the bar. Our judges this year were Dean Noelle Cockett, the dean of the College of Ag, her daughter Shantal, Troy Chilcott, the only male member of our major, two of the national FCCLA representatives and Joel Dewberry and his lovely wife! If you have not heard of Joel Dewberry you are missing out. He is basically my favorite fabric designer ever! The best part is that he is local! He lives in Perry! Here is just a sample of his wonderful work!
Isn't his work just so wonderful??? We were so privileged to have him attend our event. Here is a link to his webpage! http://www.joeldewberry.com/
So after the fashion show, Liz and I went to the paint dance! It. Was. Awesome! We got covered, and I mean covered in the watery paint. We pushed our way to the front and danced the night away. It really was a blast. I will post pictures when Liz sends them to me.
Basically yesterday is going to be really hard to top! I love my life :)

Life Lessons on a Sunday!!
1. Hymns sung in Spanish are so amazing. There is just something about knowing that all people all over the world, no matter what language they speak, can participate in worship of our Savior and Heavenly Father.
2. Girls wearing big ugly glasses without lenses make no sense...
3. Stephanie cries while watching Mulan. I guess it is a pretty touching movie...
4. Cheap rings from Walmart turn your finger green.
5. Sleeping on the couch hurts.
6. I have the best parents on this earth!!
7. Don't jump ship!
8. Things that bring happiness:
Circumstance (10%)
Thoughts and Attitudes (45%)
Choices (45%)
So 90% of our happiness is caused by things I control. I resolve to be happy much more often now.
9. Stumbling blocks can sometimes be stepping stones.
10. No matter how dumb my love situation is Megan's is worse...(I love you Meg)
Final words of wisdom:

Fantastic Friday
Fridays can really be the best! Tonight I had a great time with my friend Megan!
We started the night at Hobby Lobby. One day when I am rich I will be able to buy lots and lots of stuff from there and make my home so cute! It also inspired me that I need to craft more.
After that we went to Deseret Book and looked around at all the great things that store has to offer...like beehives!!
Next we went to Walmart. Typical activity for two lame college students. I bought a new ring!! We got stuff to make the most delicious treat ever!
We made smoothies and watched a Lindsey Lohan movie while we waited for our treat! A Friday night is never complete without Lindsey :)
Then we made browniecicles!!! THEY ROCK THIS WORLD!!!

Life lessons for the day:
Cooling brownies down with ice-cubes on tinfoil is not always the smartest idea. Maybe we should learn patience. It is a virtue...

Wednesday....
So Wednesdays would totally be my least favorite day of the week if it weren't for one thing. IWA!! I love the chance I have to get to hangout with my sisters in the gospel. Tonight we had a swim party bbq. That is one great thing about IWA, lots of good food. Tonight was really fun, except one thing. I realized how old I am. All of these girls in my group are so young! Today a girl said "you have been in IWA for four years and you aren't married yet?!!" Yep I am a failure at the dating scene so marriage is a far way off.
The IWA Naomi chapter!
So my friend Cam convinced me to read The Hunger Games. Pretty much I got hooked way fast... like I am having a hard time doing my homework because I just want to read. So if you can't get a hold of me chances are I am sucked into this book.

"Be A Star"
So this song is the inspiration for my new blog layout. Where you live, where you are be a star!!
Sometimes we need a happy reminder of what we truly are and what we should strive to do everyday. I know I get down on myself a lot and what better role model can we have than Barbie! (or Eve, this particular barbie's name).

Sundays make me so happy!
Sunday. This day is what gets me through the tough weeks. I love when my day is devoted to focusing on my savior Jesus Christ. I have decided I want to strive to give everyday a better "Sunday" feeling.
My day started off with going to the institute to listen to my good friends Chris and Kenny speak. I love them both and they both said some great things that have really impressed me. I then came home to a wonderful breakfast made by the boys downstairs. You know you are loved when your neighbors make you breakfast just because. Going to church always makes life easier. We had a fantastic lesson about genealogy and we focused a lot on the temple and the ordinances done there. It makes me so excited for the time when I get to participate in those temple ordinances.
After church a group of us went to an assisted living center and sang hymns to the residents there. I love the opportunity I have to share my testimony to these people through singing. We may not sound like the Tabernacle Choir but we are just as passionate. There are so many residents there that I truly have come to love. Many of them have hard trials to deal with everyday but they always have a smile for us.
Tonight we had a CES fireside. Elder and Sister Oaks spoke. I love that I can have answers to questions so easily as long as I take the time to listen. Of course no CES fireside is complete without mention of dating and marriage. This time Sister Oaks gave us insight in how to make our lives better as single young adults to prepare for the time when we do get married.
My Sundays are never complete without some time spent with my best friend Davin. I am so grateful I have such amazing friends who always know exactly what to say when I need it. So many people have made my Sunday so amazing. You know who you are!!

The Weekend!!
Well thanks to my neighbor Melanie I have the Rebecca Black "Friday" song stuck in my head!!
So there is nothing better than a Logan weekend! Mine has be fantabulous so far! My YSA ward had a ward retreat this weekend. We went to a lake in Tremonton that one of the bishopric owns. We ate some great food, played in the water, played volleyball, had a great fireside, watch "Princess Bride," and of course shamelessly flirted. Some people slept out under the stars but my friends and I had a tent to snuggle up in. Thank goodness, last night was cold!
Aggie Football!!! Woot! So we are playing Weber State tonight at 6. This game is going to rock. The Aggies have been stepping up their game so we should be able to win tonight! Winning the Wild Cats would rock because I have tons of friends that "bleed purple." They need to see who really rules the football field. Can't wait for the rest of this fantastic weekend! I sure do love all my friends!!

Shopping!!!
So I really love shopping. I also love when I go shopping and don't buy anything so that I don't have to feel guilty.
I learned today that I am cheap... and poor...
I also learned that if you shoplift at Claires you will get caught. This is a shout out to the girl who tried to steal some earrings... You made me laugh, hard. You are so dumb, so dumb!
Another great lesson Steph and I learned today is that anything you buy at DI can look really great as a wall decoration. We are loving our witches broom thingy....
I also learned that Google+ hangout can be really fun and does animated smiley faces :) It is even more fun when you hangout with the person sitting next to you on the couch. This can bring on uncontrolled laughter.
When life gets hard watch Another Cinderella Story with your bestie Shantel and the day will get so much better!!!

Stress with a capital S
So sometimes I get really stressed, not very often, but when I do its pretty bad.
To do list:
Student teaching application
Distance placement application
Graduation application
Teaching certificate application
30 page readings for 2 classes
Lesson plans
House cleaning
This may not seem like a very long list of things to do, but each thing is going to take a lot of time, time that I am pretty short on...
Thank goodness I have friends to help me keep my cool
Realizations for the day:
Crying for about 2 minutes can be very therapeutic...
Doing a puzzle does not relieve stress, in fact it increases it
A Cinderella Story is till one of my favorite movies to relax to
There is nothing better than reading the Ensign :)
Kid History gets better every time you watch it

Life is so...lifey
So a new school year is starting and I am realizing it is crazy how fast my life can really change. Over the summer I had tons of friends get married. My originally planned roommate got married too. I ended up alone. I was worried to start with brand new roommates. I am a friendly person but sometimes I have a hard time connecting with certain people. I must be really lucky because I am living with 3 really great girls. Even in the short time we have lived together we know a lot about each other. We are becoming really close friends. Changes in life also bring new best friends. Here is to you Shantel. You really push me to be better! That is something that I need a best friend to do. It is great having friends that you can really count on and tell anything to. I am a lucky girl and have 4 best friends. All of them serve different purposes in my life and all of them are vital to my life.
You would think that by now in my life I would have had a better grasp on who I am, but I think I am finally really figuring that out. Here is to you life. Thanks for being so good to me.
